We hold our festival in the Kerio Valley, featuring dance and singing groups that showcase the rich cultural tapestry of the Tugen community. The festival preserves and promotes Tugen heritage and values.
The community decides who takes the stage. Vote for your favourite individual artist and your favourite team — the winning artist performs live on Culture Day and takes home a reward. You must be logged in to vote, and results are public for everyone to see.

The event, a showcase of the Tugen community's heritage, is marked by a display of pomp and colour, with both the young and old coming together to witness and celebrate their culture — reviving and preserving it for future generations.
The festival also serves as a vital platform for community members to reconnect with their heritage, learn about forgotten cultural practices and customs.
Entry is completely free — merchandize and donations are simply a way to support the culture out of goodwill.
Prizes on the day for the winning artist and performing teams, voted for by the community.
Expect electrifying performances, traditional dance and song, and a chance to learn more about Tugen culture first-hand.
The annual festival provides a platform for celebrating Tugen culture while promoting greater understanding and peace between the diverse ethnic groups in the region — Marakwet, Pokot, Tugen, Keiyo, and other neighbouring tribes all take part. There is a need to embrace and preserve cultural identity — Tugenin Cultural Festival's role is to foster peace and unity, particularly among the historically warring communities in Kerio Valley.
